Model wearing a black washed mold cap, a brimless cap from UNDERCONTROL

Washed Mold, Out in the City

No studio, no softbox. We took the WASHED MOLD CAP out for a day: up the stairwells, across the crosswalks, into a borrowed loft. Then we let it get lived in.

The mold cap is our brimless cap with a crown that’s shaped to stay put. The washed version keeps that structure and softens the surface, so the color looks a little worn in from the first day. It reads more like a favorite T-shirt than a new hat.

Nobody on set got told how to wear it. One pulled it low over the ears, one pushed it back off the forehead, one let it sit high over a lot of hair. Same cap, five people, five versions.

More on how the mold cap got its shape.
